Structural Strengthening
The Sika FRP range of products include SikaWrap® glass and carbon fibre strengthening systems and Sika CarboDur®, a carbon fibre laminate strengthening system.
In May 2003, Sika (NZ) Ltd and BBR Contech (Construction Techniques Ltd) formed a strategic alliance relating to the sale and application of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) structural strengthening products in New Zealand. Both companies have been associated with FRP activities in New Zealand for almost a decade and hold similar philosophies that FRP solutions need to be carefully engineered and the technology needs to be well understood in the design and installation of FRP solutions. BBR Contech (Construction Techniques Ltd) has completed over 50 structural strengthening projects to date.
